Kindle Touch Owners, Help Me! - Page 7

If anyone has access to the TTS folder (accessible when mounting the kindle), please upload it somewhere and PM me the link!

Unfortunately, Kubrick's complete restore (including TTS) option somehow mangles the female voice option on the Kindle Touch. Selecting them in-book (with the default Kindle User Manual) produces a 'please contact Kindle customer support' message. The male voice option functions as usual.

Had I known this before, I would have backed up my TTS folder before running Kubrick and rooting my kindle. I suspect whatever file was mangled should be easily found/patched.

EDIT: To be sure this is a valid bug, I've reflashed the Kindle using separate Kubrick CDs.

I have U.S. version 5.3.7 firmware on my Kindle Touch. Uncompressed the TTF folder is 261 Megs (plus a little). Zipped it's slightly less than 230 Megs. If you have or can open an upload site public folder, I would be happy to upload it to that folder. (Providing the site can accept at least a 230 Meg file -- some have size limits on their free services, I think.)

(I could probably split the upload in half, if you only want the Samantha data and not the Tom data.)

Hello,
Sorry to bother you with this, but I wonder if you could send me the TTS files for the K touch. I have exactly the same issue as the previous poster and have gone through all the same steps except factory reset due to possibility of losing everything.

Amazon told me I need the tts files, but sent me a link which was not accessible, they say they will call back, but so much time spent on this is frustrating.

If it isn't too much trouble, would you mind sending me the files?

You can use Kubrick to restore the TTS folder on your Kindle.
