Der Tolinoallianz geht es weniger um bestehende Amazonkunden. Sie wollen jetzt, wo es zum Massenmarkt wird, unbedingt etwas konkurrenzfähiges anbieten, damit sie zumindest ihre Marktanteile halten können. Auf der PK hörte es sich weniger an, als wollte man Amazon frontal angreifen und Nutzer abspenstig machen, sondern Menschen ohne Reader in die Tolinowelt bringen.

Der PW wird wohl nicht im Preis gesenkt. Die 99 Euro des Tolinos scheinen ein Einführungspreis zu sein. Ab 1. Mai listet der Club ihn schon für 119 Euro.

Klaus Renkl (Telekom) zeigt dem Buchreport in einem Video, wie das Gerät funktioniert:

Ich finde das Gerät macht gar keinen schlechten Eindruck. Ich bin doch sehr erstaunt, was sie da auf die Beine gestellt haben. Wenn jetzt auch noch die Software fehlerlos funktioniert...

Entsprechende Apps sollen auch noch mit dem Start des Gerätes kommen. Insgesamt haben wir dann eine ähnliche Struktur, wie Amazon, mit den Vorteilen, dass ich aus verschiedenen Quellen meine Ebooks beziehen und auch die Telekom-Hotspots überall nutzen kann.

Und ich habe noch einen 5e Gutschein von Weltbild.... weiß nur nicht ob der nur online gültig ist oder in der Filiale... Ich würde lieber es in der Filiale kaufen und gleich dort etwas rumspielen dran, evtl gibt es wieder Montagsgeräte die zicken. Kennt m,an ja...

(Und ich habe mir schon einen Ordner mit ein paar eBooks gemacht,teils epup, teils pdf die z.T. komplex rüberkommen zum Geräte testen... Gibt es eigentlich irgendwo (freien und kostenfreie) eBooks die genau für den Zweck da sind?)

14 Tage bei den meisten Anbietern. Mir ist bei der Tolino-Allianz keiner bekannt, der darüber hinaus zurücknimmt.

"Tolino-Allianz" vs. Amazon

Waren e-books bei einigen Allianz Partnern nicht noch vor kurzem Teufelszeug?
Werde mir den Kindle Killer sicherlich mal ansehen, allerdings ist da immer noch
die DRM-Sache.
Als Amazon Kunde merkt man im Normalfall nichts von dieser Gängelung, ob das
nun auch mit dem Tolino gelingt?

Es gibt ja jetzt schon z.B. die Thalia-App, einmalig muss da eine Adobe-ID eingegeben werden. So ist das auch mit dem tolino. Das ist eigentlich inzwischen problemlos, gegenüber dem damaligen Verfahren. Ich erinnere mich da nur noch schwach dran, zu Sony PRS-505-Zeiten war das noch etwas umständlich.

Ich werde ihn mir auch mal anschauen, wollte sowieso noch einen epub-Reader, um auch mal die Onleihe auszuprobieren. Ich hatte allerdings eher an einen hübscheren Sony gedacht.

Noch eine ID erstellen, dann registrieren?

Das interessante daran ist Android als Grundlage. Mit einem custom build wäre das vllt. interessant. Die Beschreibung der Standardsoftware haut nicht vom Hocker.

Ich hoffe auch, dass sich da mal jemand ransetzt.

Weitere Updates sind aber offenbar auch in Planung. Wenn die Software aber so erstmal stabil läuft, ist die Entscheidung der Hersteller sicherlich richtig.

Erster Eindruck: Der Tolino ist hübscher als gedacht. Gute Verarbeitung, leicht, liegt gut in der Hand, Touchdisplay ohne Beanstandungen.

Ausleuchtung besser als beim Kindle PW, keine Wolken, Unschärfen oder Farbschimmer. LEDs sind aber unten sichtbar. Insgesamt auch noch heller einstellbar als beim PW. Licht mit Knopf ganz ausschaltbar.

Die Software hat noch Luft nach oben, alles funktioniert, ist aber nicht besonders spektakulär.

Negativ fällt mir das Ghosting auf, also Reste von der vorigen Seite, schön wäre, wenn man das in der Software einstellen könnte, derzeit ist es bei jeder 6. Seite (ohne Gewähr).

PDFs zu lesen ist eine Qual, man kann zwar die Seite in 100% Original PDF Format noch lesen dank der 1024x768er Auflösung, aber schön ist es nicht.

(ob das auch geht wenn die PDF Passwortgeschützt ist und das auslesen verbietet weiß ich nicht da ich so ne PDF grade nicht habe, gibt es eigentlich Test PDFs und Test epup's für solche Zwecke?)
aber dann ist die ganze Formatierung hin, alles ist ein großer Fließtextbrei, und das Seitenwechseln dauert noch länger als bei den epup's...

Die SW ist also noch verbesserungswürdig, aber als Erstversion soweit okay, keine Abstürze, nur reagiert er manchmal träge beim Seitenwechsel, oder wechselt gleich zwei Seiten weiter, aber da müssen sich evtl auch meine Finger erst an die richtige Bedienung gewöhnen, ich habe auch die angebrachte Displayschutzfolie drauf gelassen, wegen, ihr wißt schon, Displayschutz. Das könnte die Reaktion des Touchscreens auch negativ beeinflussen... Oder nicht?

Haptik: Liegt gut in der Hand, l"eicht rutsch hemmendes" Plastik, macht aber einen wertigen Eindruck.

Das meinte ich, die Einstellmöglichkeit gibt es noch nicht. Ich finde das Ghosting beim Tolino etwas auffällig, wenn man normalen Fließtext hat, stört es nicht, aber wenn vorher dicke Balken oder Bilder waren...

Das ist bei meinen vorigen E-Ink-Readern nie so auffällig gewesen.

Das liegt vermutlich an der Folie, solche Probleme habe ich nicht. Die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit lässt sich aber nicht mit aktuellen Handys oder Tablets vergleichen, E-Ink reagiert einfach etwas träger. Ich erkenne da aber keinen Unterschied zu anderern Touch-E-Ink-Readern.

Ich hätte gerne den Font vom Kindle 4, der ist kräftiger, als die auf dem Tolino angebotenen. Ich habe aber schon in einem anderen Forum gelesen, dass es recht einfach ist, die bestehenden Fonts zu ersetzen.
