Warum so kompliziert?

In Calibre unter Einstellungen-> Versand über Netzwerk den Server starten, dann vom Reader über WLAN die IP des PCs eingeben und hinten :8080 anhängen (bei mir z. B.: http://192.168.2.xxx:8080/) und schon hat man Zugriff auf seinen Bücher

Haha, wozu das denn? Dann kann ich doch gleich USB einstöpseln und alles rüberschieben. Die Variante über die Fritzbox ist deswegen eleganter, weil ich dann den Rechner nicht laufen lassen muss und auch aus dem Internet Zugriff darauf habe... Mit dem Ipad und Goodreader funktioniert das per FTP ja auch wunderbar.

Ok, der Tipp ist eigentlich ganz gut, über Calibre funktioniert es tatsächlich, jetzt kann ich mal gucken, wie das Skript aussehen muss, damit das auf dem Apache so defaultmäßig ausgegeben wird

da ich demnächst in den USA bin, habe ich überlegt diesen dort zu kaufen.
Hab aber noch eine Frage:
Kann man dann die Sprache auf deutsch ändern?

Jepp, kannst Du.
Dafuer musst Du aber auf die neueste Firmware upgraden
a) ueber die Desktop App die Du bei www.kobobooks.de dowloaden kannst
b) ueber WiFi (nachdem Du natuerlich den KT mit deinem Kobo account verknuepft hast)

Dabei bekommst Du dann auch gleich die Deutschen Dictionaries aufgespielt.

Nur fuer den Fall...:
Die deutsche Bediensprache musst Du dann allerdings im Menue Deines KT's auswaehlen (soll heissen stellt sich nicht automatisch um, nur weil Du evtl die Deutsche Desktop App hast)


In den USA bekommst Du den KT unter anderem bei:

- Best Buy http://www.bestbuy.com/
- Target http://www.target.com
- Fry's http://www.frys.com/

Preis liegt immer bei 129 USD (zuzueglich Steuer)

Falls Du in NY sein solltest:
In der Grand Central Station gibt es einen Kobo Store..... (da wuerd ich gerne mal hin)

Der Kobo Touch wurde nun offiziell im Preis gesenkt und kostet nur noch 129 Euro.

Außerdem soll er auch bei Saturn (und vermutlich Media Markt) zu diesem Preis erhältlich sein.

falls es den Kobo tatsächlich morgen bei Saturn gibt, würde ich ihn mir wirklich gerne kaufen. Allerdings stellt sich für mich immer noch eine Frage, die noch nicht ganz geklärt zu sein scheint:
welche Wörterbücher sind genau integriert und es gibt es die Möglichkeit, selbst noch welche hinzuzufügen? Das wäre mir sehr wichtig! Insbesondere ein Wörterbuch für Englisch und eins für Französisch (meinetwegen reicht mir für Französisch auch Eng-Fr) ist echt wichtig für mich!!!

Nun kann man wohl den Kobo auch hier bestellen.

Ich hab' zwar noch nie was bei Redcoon bestellt, aber nun geht's anscheinend.

Allerdings hab' ich seit 2 Wochen den Sony T1.

Bin aber nicht zufrieden.

Die Suche innerhalb des ebooks funktioniert leider nur rudimentär. Die vorherige und nächste Instanz kann man suchen, aber nicht die ERSTE.

Hat man dann so lange die vorherige Instanz dedrückt daß man die erste bekommt, kann man nicht einfach wieder zurück. Man muß wieder genauso oft die nächste drücken.

Das macht die Suche innerhalb des ebooks praktisch nutzlos.

Ich bin nach wie vor der Meinung daß das eine der wichtigsten Funktionen eines ereaders ist. Wenn man innerhalb des Textes sucht brauch man ganz einfach die Funktionen:

Erste - Vorherige - Nächste - Zurück

Wohlbemerkt ich meine hier den Sony PRS-T1, da ich noch keinen Kobo habe weiß ich nich' wie der das macht.

Naja, Suchen ist für mich eher unwichtig, weil ich eben damit Romane lese...

Aber auch dem Touch ist das so gelöst: Erstmal gibt man den Suchtext ein, dann sucht der Kobo erstmal das gesamte Buch durch und legt die Ergebnisse in einer Liste ab, jeweils zwei Zeilen rund um das gesuchte Wort werden dann überscihtlich angezeigt, einmal raufklicken und man ist auf der Seite, von da aus kann man vor zum nächsten oder zurück zum Eintrag davor oder wieder auf die Ergebnis-Seite - recht cool gelöst, das Anlegen des Indexes dauert allerdings ein bisschen...

Die Firmware vom Kobo ist schon recht gut, das einzige, was mich stört, dass man die css der ebooks nicht aktiv übersteuern kann.

In der Familie ist ein Kobo Touch aufgetaucht und ich hatte am Sonntag kurz Gelegenheit, ihn anzusehen. Gefälliges Gerät. Ich nehme mir dann auch mal diesen Thread vor, den ich jetzt noch nicht gelesen habe...

Nur ganz kurz aus dem eigenen Anfassen:

Mein "Und wo reguliere ich hier die existenziellen Dinge?" (=Schriftgröße, Zeilenabstand etc.) klärte sich dann durch den Zufallsfingerdruck des Eigentümers auf den Bildschirm unmittelbar über dem Homeknopf. Nicht wirklich selbsterklärend. (Ich weiß, man kann TFM nachgucken, aber ich halte es da auch gern mit Bob dem Baumeister: "Anleitungen sind für Leute, die nicht wissen, wie sowas geht." )

Und einfach auf die MicroSD-Karte gespeicherte und eingestopfte epubs hat der Kobo beim ersten Annehmen der Karte nicht bzw. immer nur Kleinhäppchenweise in die Bibliothek aufgenommen. Das irrititerte mich. Mal sehen, wie das Ding sich längerfristig macht. Ich schaue bei Gelegenheit nochmal drauf.
