Some things to consider before buying the Playbook. Personally, between this, and the new HTC View from Sprint, I am torn.

Yeah, the battery life is my main concern, followed closely by getting some clarity on the "bridging" process (and carrier charges) between my BlackBerry and the PlayBook. All things considered, unlike with the eDGe, I'm much less likely to jump in without seeing some user and reviewer feedback.

I'm still wondering if you'd have to pay extra for tethering if you already have an unlimited data package?

I also was wondering if you had to have a Blackberry phone to get any true functionality from it.

I'm wondering the same; the way it's advertised would suggets a more seamless experience when tethering with a Blackberry. But since they don't share an OS, tethering to other phones should be possible, tho possibly disabled.

First claim to expected battery life I've seen (albeit by retailer, not RIM):

My husband plans to buy one of these. I'm a bit envious knowing he'll be getting a tablet that runs Android 2.3 apps.
