Google has extended their eBookstore to support sales in Canada.

Format is epub, works with Kobo readers. But the review linked above says their ebook prices are considerably higher than the Kobo bookstore in Canada.

Thanks for the heads up. I think at this point Kobo has equal or better selection, and better pricing.

Yes they have added a books section in the market on my Android tablet, but google books still can't be downloaded in canada.

The whole point of the story was that it used to be true that you couldn't purchase and download books from the Google eBookstore in Canada, but now you can. Maybe you need to update something in Android?

I'm not going to buy one of their overpriced ebooks just to try it, but I tried adding one of their free ebooks to my cart and downloading it as an epub. That worked fine.

Does anyone know how to search and or display categories etc. just for the public domain/free books? The only thing I can see are the pre-loaded selections.
