iLiber: New eReader with support for Adobe DE

Mielibro, a Spanish company, has launched the iLiber, a 6-inch ebook reader with support for Adobe Digital Editions ePub and PDF, with and without DRM, as well as the typical ebook formats: Mobipocket without DRM, html, fb2, rtf, pdf, jpg.

The reader appears to be based on a standard Netronix HW platform with a custom firmware. They are selling the device starting May, 15th.

The advance purchase price is €220, which includes Spanish translations of 100 classic novels. They also have a bookstore, which only includes Spanish books so it may not be very interesting to non-Spanish readers.

Actually it does not seem to support mobi, what the web says is

Menú o interfaz en Inglés, Español, Francés, Portugues y Alemán
- Soporta los formatos de ebook: .pdf, .epub, .txt, .html, .chm
- Soporta los formatos de imagen: .bmp, .jpg y .gif

which does not mention mobi. The device seems Netronix EB600 based, a Cybook clone, like the eSlick, I wonder who wrote the Firmware.
If any Spanish friend bought it, he/she could tell us something.

Looks like they could have just grabbed the stuff from Netronix for the OS and are using ADE for pdf, epub. txt is trivial and html comes almost for free with epub. CHM is really just compressed html anyway so it may not be that hard although the structure stuff could take some work. I am really surprised more units don't have CHM.

Actually someone of MieLibro's staff posts regularly on www.lectoreselectronicos.com (a spanish Mobileread wannabe) and has confirmed prc and fb2 support on the final firmware version, so the specs on the website must be old.

Mmmm, still curious about who is developing the firmware. If it is not the final firmware, then they rushed it.
Whatever, it is not important. Do you also know what it works like ?
