Whats draining the battery?
How can I tell what is draining the battery on HD+ (running CM10.1) when the Nook is turned off?
Last night I fully charged the battery and turned it off when it was fully charged. I have just turned it on and the battery is only 3/4 full. It has 100+ apps on it, mainly games from Amazons Free App of the Day so I guess it could be anything. |

You can get an idea of battery usage at Settings>Battery. Download ES Task Manager. It does a variety of things including cache cleaning, stopping tasks running in the background, and other functions. Be careful however, it's very powerful.

Free apps often use advertising services or other constantly-running services to make money. I've found that sticking to open source free apps or buying an app usually makes me happier in the long run than trying to deal with free apps.
One good source of apps is bundles. There's many places you can get apps bundled into a single Pay What You Want price. For example, in the latest Humble Bundle I paid $10 and got 8 games, some of them very highly rated. I can install them on my PC and my Android tablet. Here's a wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humble_Indie_Bundle |

One of the things I do is I have an app that will actually power down my Nook HD after a certain number of hours of non use.
Plus if you are not using the wifi make sure you turn it off.... that helps alot |

My Nook Tablet is draining a fully charged battery in a day. I'll look into these apps to find the power thief.

Thanks everyone. I found the culprit, it was a game I'd downloaded from Amazon. Several people noted in the comments that it drained their batteries as well. I have deleted it and no longer have any issues.

I installed Vine on mine and if I watched it, that evening it would drain my battery. It would just self start. Uninstalled and no issues again. Same thing threw my teenaged daughter's cell data over the limit.

I have Clean Master by KS Mobile and Advanced Task Killer by Rechild on all my Android devices. I love them both. Clean Master is particularly useful.
