My PRS350 seems to have locked up
when my PC went to sleep. The reset button doesn't seem to work either. The screen displays continuouly a "Charging Stopped" message. Any suggestions?

I had one of the Sony's (can't remember if it was the 350 or the 650) lock up so bad, I pretty much had to leave it sit overnight and it drained the battery enough to shut it down completely. Which then let me plug it in and turn it back on.

You will have to restart the reader with the power-switch. But as FizzyWater wrote, a connected PC in standby can have drained your battery. So recharge, preferred with a main-charger. Almost any cellphone charger with Mico-USB tip will do. Last edited by Mark Nord; 12-07-2012 at 09:51 AM. Reason: typo |

Been on charge all day
No luck, The charging LED doesn't seem to light up either, but I left it connected to the charger all day. I wonder if the battery needs replacing. Does anyone know what they cost?
Edit:Sheesh! NOW the charging LED lights up. I'll take a look in the morning and see if it's any better. Last edited by GlenBarrington; 12-06-2012 at 11:24 PM. Reason: My life is a soap opera of no particular importance. |

Everything you describe sounds normal to me.
Your reader seems to be completely discharged and even the charging light needs some power to lighten up. A. |

Thanks All!
Good to go now. I had forgotten the 350's charging 'quirks'.

When you computer went to sleep, it probably dropped power to the USB port. And in some cases, it will actually drain the battery.
And an eink screen holds the last image until it is actually changed, and it can't change without power. |

Glad to hear you're back in business! The 350 is such a nice little reader, it would be sad if it were dead.
