BTW, several of you mentioned that your new PW2 is already showing up in your list of Kindles. That is typical of Amazon. As soon as you pre-order, or order, they add it to the list. When it gets ready to ship then you will see the serial number and email address added. That usually happens on the day it gets processed to ship.

Glad you took the plunge! Will be curious as to your thoughts.

I'm still holding out over here. lol.

I ordered on Sep 6, 2013, and my cover has been shipped and will arrive Sep 10, 2013. My Paperwhite 2013 will arrive Oct 2, 2013.

Ordered last night. October 2nd is the estimated delivery date. Looking forward to it, as I'm upgrading from a K4.

In the UK so delivery on release date here of October 9th for me

and fingers crossed that 1) we don't get a repeat of last year's "blobgate" and 2) the devs can work their usual magic. Now thinking that maybe I should have waited before ordering - I don't really want to use a kindle without the goodies from the dev team...

I ordered mine + case from .uk; was given a despatch date of 9th Oct. Around 5 mins ago my phone dinged to let me know I had a new email; subject :"Your Amazon.co.uk order of "Amazon Kindle Paperwhite..." has been dispatched"
Wow! Great! But no, when I opened the mail it referred to the case only being despatched

So glad the old cases will fit the new model as I've just bought a new pink official case for my original paperwhite and I've also got a blue official case I bought when the paperwhite launched.

I've got a generic case I can use. I was glad I didn't buy a case last year as I wound up returning all 3 PW1s I tried out.

Perhaps the good thing for you guys in Europe and elsewhere is that your week delay in shipping from that in the USA would give you time to cancel if you felt the early reviews by MR members were discouraging.

I ordered the Fintie Folio case for it, rather than the official case, as it's a lot cheaper and has good reviews. I just can't justify paying a third of the price of a KPW for a case.

Yes, that's exactly how I see it. Mind you, I had luck with my PW1 and am using it everyday (either it has one of those good displays, or I have a bad view), so the reason I ordered the PW2 is more the new functions than the display. I will keep using the PW1, there will be one in my bag and one next to my bed.

Although given how no-hassle Amazon returns are, I'm likely to just wait and see what the one I end up with is like anyway.

I ordered on Sep 4, My ETA is October 17 - October 21. My blue cover for it will arrive tuesday.

Apparently some prioritization is going on ... Did I say something bad about Amazon at some point ? :-)

This will be my third Kindle ... still enjoying my Kindle NT on a daily basis.
