Sony reader PRS-700 Bugs

When you book mark a page and then change the size of the text it will disappear from the corner. if you book mark it again you will have two book marks of the same page. if you try to remove one, the page sticks on the same size when you flip the pages you will get a different size.

i cant reproduce..

you can have multiple bookmarks of the same page cause it does bookmarks on a per size basis, but as for it changing font sizes while doing that.. it isnt happening to me.

I don't have PRS-700 but my PRS-505 behaves the same way. I think each bookmark is linked to specific font size. Since changing font size changes pagination, I think it is quite a reasonable behavior.

I think that when it is created the bookmark is linked to the first character that appears on that page. So if you change font size, that character will change placement on a page, but the bookmark remains linked to that character. So it's possible to create a second bookmark, which is linked to the current first character showing on that page.

I think this is not correct. If your hypothesis is correct, I should be able to see a bookmark on the first page of the book regardless of the font size, but it is not the case.

I'm chiming in to confirm the 'bug'. I followed the above and yes, the
current v1.x firmware does not separate the bookmark values from the
last page hold, nor does the font resize play well when going back and
forth with pages/bookmarks. For now, only use the font/zoom after
you bookmarked your pages or removed them. Another thing, never
manipulate/edit/open an "opened" book/file via windows explorer or
while in read mode or you will lose all notes/bookmarks etc.

Hi fellows,

After connecting for the very first time on both
Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows XP
Professional, the ebook library does not detect
the Sony PRS700, the device is not shown in the
library, although it detects it and installs the
drivers correctly.
Please advise on how to solve my problem.

Hi

So happy got my e-book reader although it's not available over here...I downloaded some books from the Sony US store on Saturday, courtesy of a friend's address and went back to add some more today. Slight problem in that you can only log in though the 'Source' and my computer now only shows the library, not the reader, although it's connected and on and all up to date software etc on it. Also won't show the store.

Anyone any ideas how to get the 'Source' to show all my options cos I can't even transfer the ebooks to my reader at the moment......

Thanks very much - so happy no longer have to fill my bag with books on holiday!!!

Last time I had a problem with my 505 showing up in eBook Library, what solved it for me was a system reboot.
