The Martian Race by Gregory Benford
I just finished reading The Martian Race and found it very enjoyable. It was a well researched and plausible hard sci fi story set a few years in the future(2016-2018) about mankind's first manned mission to Mars. With NASA out of the picture because they deem it too expensive The Consortium( a bunch of Wealthy investors) and Airbus(a Chinese-European alliance) vie to be the first to do a detailed exploration of Mars.
Combining politics, scientific discovery and media frenzy its a great story. |
