Technology users' strong support for libraries

An article in the Washington Post reports a positive relationship between how much people use technology and their support of public libraries.

Quote:
New research on library users from the Pew Research Center suggests that people who report high engagement with libraries tend to be pretty tech savvy. The two groups identified by the Pew Internet and American Life Project as having the highest level of engagement with libraries, "library lovers" and "information omnivores" show higher levels of technology usage than the average American.

For most questions, the difference is statistically insignificant. The biggest difference is in 'Use the internet at least occasionally' and where is the surprise there? I would imagine a lot of people who do not have internet access use a library as a public terminal. When we lost power/internet for eight days, I used Staples for my internet activities -- they had better hours than the library.
