Really? Why? In this case I am afraid I will have to buy as my first reader Sony PRS-T1, despite this HSIS technology on Cybook.

Because Bookeen - despite making very nice readers - are not very reliable, when it comes to firmware updates. I still remember the many months it took them to finally roll out a stable firmware for the Gen3. ("monday" was a special term in those days here in the forum... )

You mean the ePub firmware ?

No, but you can use any "made for capacitive" stylus.

Well, the orizon seams to be using some ade thingy for note. I think it might be possible to hack that and have desktop ADE use these. But, there is no telling the odyseey will work the same.

It's tempting to pre-order.
Does anyone have more experience with Bookeen?
Would you count on it being relatively bug free and - essentially - better than the Sony PRS-T1?
Do you think one would regret not purchasing the PRS-T1?

I'd prefer to wait for impartial reviews, but they may be 3 weeks away.

Well, the opus had some nasty bugs at first. Bookeen fixed that Bookeen is sometimes slow with updates, but bugs gets fixed, and they add features every now and then. Sony is mostly happy with just bug fixes.

AS PRS-T1 owner, i'll still get the odyssey. The T1 is a good reader, but it lacks folder view. That's kind of a show stopper for me.
Odyssey have hyphenation that's a definitive plus. I like the rendering on the orizon better than the T1.

But i would say the T1 beats the odyssey for notes and music and dictionary. (we'll see when the odyssey comes out).

Honestly, T1 and odyssey are both good readers, i don't believe you can be wrong with either of them.

Yes, well Bookeen had promised preorders on their website today, but I'm not suprised at them missing this deadline. Seriously, I think some of these tech-companies do it to us on purpose ...

To all the non-Frenchies, will you pre-order/order from the bookeen site, thus (presumably) expecting devlivery from France?
If so, that could be problematic if you find a problem and need to return/exchange it.
I'm in the UK, and though am tempted to pre-order, think it would be smarter to wait until a local supplier stocks it (though who knows how long that could be).

yep, I think I will wait for a local supplier too so I can complain (touch wood) in their face if needs be. "Fnac" Belgium though can add 40 € extra if you buy in their shop. Which is out of the question. On the other hand Pixmania may be difficult as Bookeen to complain to, I don't know...
