Many of those of course ARE available as eBooks from Baen.

It's the original "known space" books which appear to be unavailable.

Haven't read Ringworld but my dad is forever mentioning it and for that reason I have it on my TBR list. I just never seem to get around to it. I think I'll give the audiobook a go instead.

I read The Integral Trees and really loved that.

My favorite is Protector.

I've been stupid...

A lot of his earlier non-Known Space works are available.

Ah yes. I remember the story though I had forgotten the title. We learn something about their homeworld in the story as I recall.

I prefer Integral Trees and the Smoke Ring to Ringworld.
Most of the Tales of Known Space are very good but Ringworld's ending...annoyed me. Humorous intent or not.
Spoiler:

Lucky morons are going to inherit the universe? I beg to differ.
No amount of luck can make up for DARWIN AWARDS -evel brainlessness.

Not a book I re-read.

(Maybe I should to see if my perception has changed. First I need to see where my copy is these days.)

Yep, we do; that it has no moon (because the Puppeteers were unable to figure out that it was a gravitational tide that killed the crew of one if their supposedly invulnerable General Products-hulled ships).

Great story.

Yep, and they are suppose to be cowards though there is a contradiction I think. Or at least there are some who are brave as they do sometimes interact with beings from other cultures. And they do have business dealings with others (the aformentioned General Products ship hulls) so you have to wonder how they can do that and be a race of cowards at the same time.

The ones who interact with other species are considered insane by the rest of the Pierson's Puppeteers.

E-mail?

Telepresence would be my guess. Maybe via on-screen avatars.
(Think of Asimov's Solaria, from THE NAKED SUN.)

Really liked Ringworld, but not enough to pursue the series. I've got a printed edition, can't bring myself to give or sell it, but not interested in a reread either. Hmmm...maybe it is time.
