1. Polk.
2. I think was Tyler. I don't recall how many, but I imagine it was a lot, so I'll guess 17. |

I hope I have not led this thread into a dead end. There are still many correct answers yet to be presented.

So I have killed this thread. Here are the answers to the questions I posed.
1 Name the President(s) that had no children (known and legitimate) Polk Shayne Parkinson as well as George Washington (I guess calling him the “father of my country” should not be taken literally.) James Buchanan. 2 Name the President(s) that had the greatest number of children and how many John Tyler Shayne Parkinson Number? Shayne was close with her of 17, it was actually 15 3 Name the President(s) that had the greatest number of wives and how many A six way tie for two wives. Except in the case of Reagan the first wife died. Life expectancy was not great in the 19th and early 20th Centuries, primarily because of the risk of childbirth. John Tyler 2 Millard Fillmore 2 Benjamin Harrison 2 Theodore Roosevelt 2 Woodrow Wilson 2 Ronald Reagan 2 4 Name the President(s) that were never married. Buchanan poohbear_nc 5 Name the President(s )that divorced a wife (or wives). Ronald Reagan was divorced from his first wife. I suppose that with two correct answers Shayne can revive this thread. Or anyone that cares to. |

Eep! I didn't expect to win that one! Thanks, Hamlet.
Here's one I heard on the radio yesterday. What do the following rather eclectic songs have in common? 1. Waterloo, Abba 2. Wannabe, Spice Girls 3. How Long Will I Love You? Ellie Goulding 4. Teenage Kicks, Undertones 5. Yesterday, Beatles 6. Mercedes Benz, Janis Joplin 7. Johnny B. Goode, Chuck Berry 8. I'll Be Your Baby Tonight, Bob Dylan 9. Crazy, Gnarles Barkley 10. Wouldn't It Be Nice, Beach Boys Bonus point: this song would also fit in the group. What's its particular claim to fame? Stay Just a Little Bit Longer, Maurice Williams Last edited by Shayne Parkinson; 02-12-2014 at 06:06 PM. |

They were all number One hits on the same day in different years?

Umm… a wild guess, since I'm not particularly musical. Are they all in a minor key? |

I know that John Peel had a line from Teenage Kicks engraved on his headstone, so have they all had lines used as epitaphs in some way?

I'm going to cheat and have a few guesses at once, as I'm about to head for bed.
1. They all came to the artist in a dream? (Yesterday did to McCartney). 2. They are the favourite songs of well known DJs? 3. They all reached #1 in the charts for just one week? 4. They have all been sued for copyright infringements? 5. They were all the opening track on the album on which they featured? 6. They are all about teenage longings? I could go on, but it is the early hours, so good night all. |

The answer is comparatively prosaic. A clue: in times gone by, a higher proportion of popular songs had this characteristic than is the case today. |
