UK Book covers

Hi all,

I am new to this and am still trying to get my head round all this. However, I notice that a lot of my book covers are not the same as the ones I am used to seeing. I think they might be US covers rather than UK ones. It is only a cosmetic thing but was wondering of there is a way to set this so it picks UK based covers?

Thanks in advance..

You can google for the cover you want, download it and and use that.

Fantastic Fiction is a good start for your cover searches.

Cheers for the hint but I was wondering if there was a way to automatically point it to UK covers.

That is a good point. Sometimes UK covers are much better than US ones. The same applies in reverse as well.

calibre downloads covers from librarything and openlibrary, it has no control over where they get their covers from.

Of course, if you have some source of UK covers in mind, you can write a cover download plugin for calibre to use it.

Would it be possible for Calibre to display the LibraryThing and OpenLibrary covers that it finds so that the user can choose which to use?

  • Yes.
  • It's been requested before.
  • It's my understanding that it's on the ToDo list, but with relatively low priority.
  • Patches from others (if you have the skill/time/desire to write code like this) are always welcome.
