Cover in iBooks

Hallo zusammen,

ich exportiere mein epub File aus Indesign CS4, was auch soweit alles sehr gut funktioniert.

Nun ist mir folgendes aufgefallen:
wenn man das Buch in iBooks öffnet und dann in das Inhaltverzeichnis navigiert erscheint z.B. bei Winnie the Pooth auf der linken Seite das Buchcover. Bei meinem ist nur die Default-Grafik (braunes Cover) zu sehen.

Mit Cover auf der linken Seite:

Wie kann ich das ändern? Oder wird das Cover beim publishing-Prozess als extra Datei mit hochgeladen?

Kann es sein, dass dein Cover als SVG-Grafik eingebaut ist? Damit haben verschiedene Programme ihr Problem, weiß nur nicht, ob das auch bei iBooks so ist.

Hallo,
danke für die Antwort. Das Problem ist, das ich nicht weiß, woher iBooks weiß, was hier auf der linken Seite dargestellt werden soll... bzw. wie man es dem System/eBook sagt.

Kennt sich damit vielleicht jemand aus? Hat jemand hier schon mal ein eBook in iTunes zum Verkauf hochgeladen/angelegt?

Am einfachsten, Buch nach iTunes schieben, Cover hinzufügen, Buch aus iTunes wieder raus, fertig.

ja, wie ich das Cover in iTunes hinzufüge ist mir klar.
Rechtsklick aufs Buch, Cover hinzufügen - fertig.

Aber wie kriege ich das Buch dann aus iTunes wieder raus?

Es geht aber eigentlich nicht um das Cover in der Miniaturansicht der Regalansicht, sondern wie in den Links oben beim geöffneten Buch im Inhaltsverzeichnis auf der linken Seite.

Hat das schon mal jemand hinbekommen? wenn ja wie?

Also ein ebook kann man zwar per Drag n Drop in iTunes reinziehen, aber raus bekomme ich es dann so nicht mehr. Weiß jemand wie ich das machen kann?

Mit der rechten Maustaste auf das eBook klicken und dann auf "im Explorer anzeigen" (oder so ähnlich). Dann öffnet sich der Ordner in dem es gespeichert ist und du kannst es da rausschieben oder kopieren.

Oder eben im Finder anzeigen ... habe es gerade ausprobiert, unter Mac OS geht auch drag and drop.

Heyho holdrio,

ich weiß genau was Du mit deinem Problem meinst!
Ich habe den selben Mist auch, und habe bis jetzt noch keine sinnvolle Lösung gefunden.
Habe jegliche Möglichkeiten und Einbettungen ausprobiert und nichts hat funktioniert...
Sogar das angleichen an funktionierende ePubs (bei denen das Cover beim öffnen des Buches auf Seite 1 angezeigt wird) hat nichts gebracht.
Am Ende habe ich das fertige ePub dann in calibre gepackt und sozusagen aus dem ePub ein ePub gemacht – da war das Cover plötzlich da.
Dabei gibts dann aber das Problem, dass die ePub-Datei etwas unsauber wird.

Ziemlicher sch*** mit diesem iPad und ihren ach so tollen extra-Spezifikationen...
Es gibt auch das Problem, das Zeilen, die zentiert gesetzt sind einfach so (ohne Begründung/ist ein Bug) linksbündig angezeigt werden....

Meine Meinung nach sollten die sich schleunigst um die Probleme kümmern, die iBooks verursacht. Da gibts nämlich auch so Probleme, dass das Cover im iTunes-Store nicht angezeigt wird, obwohl es als Cover deklariert ist und all so unnötigen Kram...

iPad wäre gut wenn da nicht iBooks wäre....

Falls Du oder wer anders ne Lösung findet, bitte bitte schreiben ;-)

Wie hast du die Zeilen gesetzt? Einfach per "align" (was nicht jede Lesesoftware mag) oder per CSS als "class" (was eigentlich immer funktioniert; bis auf Stanza, aber das hat sowieso seine eigenen Regeln)?

Von anderen Dienstleistern habe ich dann ja auch erfahren, das es ein iPad-seitiger Bug ist.

Und zu iBooks und schön und gut: Da magst du ja Recht haben, jedoch ist es ein unding, dass diese 100,00% Übereinstimmung mit den Spezifikationen NICHT in die Richtung geht, dass die OFFIZIELLEN Spezifikationen eingehalten werden müssen, sondern die "internen Apple Spezifikationen", die jedoch von Apple wiederum NUR an eingetragene Publisher weitergegeben werden unter der Bedingung, diese NIEMALS an dritte weiterzugeben, da sonst sofort jegliche Zusammenarbeit mit Apple beendet wird!


Übrigens müssen die ePubs für iBooks NICHT 100,00% konform sein, was ja die doppelte "ePubisierung" durch calibre zeigt. iBooks hat damit keine Probleme...

Habe mir jetzt mal ein Buch zum Thema iPad->ePub gekauft...
Es gibt sogar statische Layouts im ePub-Format
