My weekly doctors appointment was for the ring finger which is swollen and painful to the touch. Fluid on the joint is the diagnosis. Ibuprofen with every meal until it returns to normal.

And I have a cold.

Good morning, everyone! I can't seem to get my eye's open today. Anh, today's the day that you finally got up before me. I didn't crawl out of the rack until almost 09:30, and I'm ready to go back again. But first a simple breakfast of Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea, some focaccia and babbaganoush.

I was part of the test study 15 years ago for the oral typhoid vaccine. ANYTHING is better than getting the typhoid shots! They feel like someone is shooting a flame thrower into your arm, the pain lasting for an hour afterwards, then getting sick for a couple of days too. It's one of the new 'electronic' passports, and feels very different. The Kansai Traveler's Clinic gave us new shot record booklets, but they are printed on plain paper. I've ordered a couple of the better ones from one of the world health organizations. Should be here in time for next week's shots.

OK... I'd better get some cleaning done, or my wife will never let me take my nap!

Fortunately, for lack of the extra X chromosome, I don't need to get that one!
I don't know the schedule for this vaccine, but my first wife died of complications from cervical cancer, so PLEASE maintain your coverage. The vaccine was not even in trial when she was diagnosed.

I had a liquid dinner this evening (dentist visit late this afternoon) and am forbidden hot liquids, alcohol, and solid food until tomorrow, so I'm treating myself to Chocolate milk made with a double does of Van Houten cocoa. I'm contemplating another but with a triple dose of the bean. I figure it's therapeutic. The 'theobromide' in the cocoa has a very positive emotional effect on the body, so I figure I'm reinforcing my positive mental attitude towards dentists.

We take the second capsule tomorrow too. Neither of us seem to be bothered by it, (touching wood as I type this...) But today I had a tooth pulled, and I'm wondering if the antibiotics will have any effect on typhoid vaccine? I'll have to look into this. I never thought of it when I set up my schedule.
Typhoid isn't a major consideration in northern Thailand, but there is heavy flooding every year during the rainy season. Not so bad in the area we'll be in, but I figure it's better to have the vaccine and not need it rather than not have it and worry during the floods.

That's a coïncidence, you and your wife taking those capsules as well.
Last time I wasn't that affected by it, but this time I had slept very poorly and coughing away from my influenza. One has to be in excellent shape, I guess, before taking those things. But I'll travel in 18 days, so I have to have them.
edit: I take Vivotif and it says to not take that with antibiotics....I would chuck the antibiotics.

You're right! I just looked at the literature (we are also taking Vivotif) so I'm going to use positive mental energy to deal with any possible infection from the tooth extraction, and continue with the Typhoid medicine. I sure hope the dentist washed his hands...

It's possible that the next generations are free from all diseases. I surely hope that miracle happens in my lifetime...

Speaking of shots and stuff... Can blood donation be addictive? Because it's only 2 months from the last time and I really, really want to do that again

Yes, it CAN! It can both emotionally and psychologically addictive for many people, especially war veterans, and children of war veterans. Many compulsive blood donors do so out of 'survivor guilt.' Most health organizations prohibit donations within specified time limits. I know several people who have never missed a donation right on the day of their limit for the past 40-45 years! That is a LOT of blood donated and a lot of lives helped!

Donation is a wonderful gift of life, but stay within safe time margins. It's a great thing you are doing... unless you are doing it just for the free orange juice afterwards.

Speaking as a small game hunter, and as someone who has worked briefly in a law enforcement agency -- hopefully, never in earnest.
