Opus OPUS firmware update? any rumours?

Enjoying the latest FW but would love to see some update......However, I am well aware that Bookeen is not keen on them..... So does anyone have an ear near the Bookeen HQ?

Haven't seen/read anything, but then I haven't been paying a lot of attention to Bookeen lately either. Did they ever do an update so you could bookmark on the ePub firmware?

I really with they'd make both firmwares work with non-DRM files of their opposing formats (meaning the ePub fw would do non-DRM Mobi and vice versa).

It works for the orizon. Will probably comes with the next opus update, whenever that is.
When bookeen says "we're going to do an update", you can trust them do to so. The only question is when.

back on the end of march, bookeen support mentioned that an update for opus was ready for use but needed to be tested, which would take 'several months'.

6 months, i guess, qualifies for inclusion in the mathematical set 'several'. however, i do not think that duration is any longer in the set 'reasonable', or even the microsoft standard 'real soon now' set. maybe santa will deliver it in my stocking on xmas? (note i am not mentioning WHICH christmas. HoHoHo)

p.s. - the arabic term that comes to mind is 'bukra, inshallah' (tomorrow, God willing), which is normally used to mean 'maybe tomorrow, only if God makes me do it'

this can be combined with the italian "Sú dimentichiamo domani, Perché forse non verrá" (Let's forget about tomorrow, For tomorrow never comes!) - Perry Como <-linky (at least we can be entertained while waiting)

Well, they did that for one update.
Bookeen and delays... You can never know with them.

Well Monday is just around the corner...Wish Bookeen would push the OPUS more...in more markets..still one of the best epub rendering eink readers that I have ever seen.

I've given up hope on updates; asking them about it triggers very elusive answers. Still love my Opus, but i doubt it will ever see an update. They're all about the Orizon… until something else comes along. Bad customer service, if you ask me.

Well, thegen 3 is still among the update longevity recordmen. Only bested by my synlogy nas.

Even if i own on orizon, i really really wish for an update for my opus.

Ah, I was actually considering a Synology NAS. Good to know they are Bookeen-ish in firmware updates, I'll stay away.

The NAS had updates for 3 years.
They even made an update after saying there would be no more, to fix some unexpected breakage with OSx lion.

As far as bookeen goes, yeah, they could be better, but they still does a better job at it than most companies i've dealt with.
