Forgot to say...
Yes this was the word.
What i forgot to add at my questions: Is it possible to change/set the UserAgent? -because one there is mobile like Facebook and on the others side like Google there is no mobile. Best regards Bagerfahrer Last edited by Bagerfahrer; 11-13-2012 at 01:23 AM. |

Thanks for feedback. It is nice to hear that this browser is so popular. The number of users of this kindle version all over the world may even exceed 3 people By the way it is not my browser. I only adjusted it for KT. The authors are these guys. You are right that scrolling needs improvements. There is something wrong with SkipStone interpreting gestures. It scrolls too slow, but you should be able to scroll up and down using finger. I don't know why you are limited to scrolling only down? Second todo would be to open keyboard automatically on webkit edit events. That should be relatively easy. Third todo: selecting all text when clicking into address field. Regarding your questions. There is no easy way of using other virtual keyboard. You can try to experiment with the matchbox-keyboard from my XTerm package, but you will probably run into problems. There is no way of browsing downloaded files. The user agent is hardcoded. Next todo would be to make it editable. I add all these todos to my list, but I cannot promise you that I will address these issues soon. First thing I would like to improve, if time allows, would be scrolling bug. |

Thanks for your reply.
It's difficult to quote here so i tried without it. I did not know that this browser is not yours. Thanks that you added the problems in your issues list. With the scrolling I meaned it's very slow to scoll down/up or right/left with fingers and this only in one direcion. The best is you can use the scrollbars to move faster. That with the button to open/close the keyboard is sometimes really helpful. For example you have 2 inputs that only allow numbers and you switch from 1 to the 2 button it do not close and open then again and you havejtto click on the button with the numbers. Thank you baf for creating such a useful browser.
After nearly one day of using the SkipStone, I have a suggestion here. I am a Kindle noob though. The menu buttons on the top of the screen is too close to the side of the the Kindle front frame. And because the screen of Kindle Touch is about 3 mm lower than the frame, it is a little clumsy to touch those menu items. Moving the menus a bit lower will make it more user friendly, I think. What do you think of it? Another issue here. It only moves up or down one line of text when swiping. That harms the use experience because one need to swipe 20-30 times to go to the bottom of the webpage. Hope my suggestions will make SkipStone a unique browser for Kindle Touch. Hallo baf,
I know you are not superman but here are two terrible bugs: - if you open a dopdown menu and scolls down the dropdown menu will be closed because maybe he think I do somethings in the tab and not in the menu. - If you then chose an item and you press the OK/send button from the form the browser will be crashed. For example in the Browsergame Xhodon.
You open the map and you want only see defender with lvl 7 but you see only until defender 6 so you have to scroll down but if you do this the dropdown menu will be closed. And the other example from the game is if you want attack somemthings you go to hero under 'send out' and add the coords and choose an command fom the dropdown menu. If you press now the OK button the browser will be crashed. But I have to say the game need a lot of javascript. Best regards Bagerfahrer Last edited by Bagerfahrer; 11-23-2012 at 05:37 PM. |

hmm. could be worth looking at the overall resource tree.
maybe there is some process that you can kill to get a tiny bit more room for memory (that sounds like it could be resource related TBH). But honestly... That's as far as my thoughts go |

Also, I didn't find a way to move my personal bookmarks to the favorite toolbar. Besides, are you planning to enable portrait mode on it? Just a thought. Last edited by johnleo; 11-24-2012 at 09:14 AM. |

I am not sure if my using of LARGE fonts makes my selection easier. nor indeed if injecting a large font would cause an overflow resize in the menu. I could look at that. but I doubt it. I personally use a pen thing to do my exact pressing. (pictured) It is possible to make some of that stuff accessible via Xresources (or something) and indeed I don't know, perhaps some of it is.... but if it's not there already it's effort. Any chance of grabbing an exact output of your CTNG config baf?? Would like to jump on building this with you. Last edited by twobob; 11-23-2012 at 11:06 PM. |

alternative browser
hey community,
I founded already a thread about this but there was only SkipStone. So i am asking again. Are there any alterntive browser for the Kindle Touch to try out? I read somethings about "stock browser" or something like this. Best regards Bagefahrer Last edited by Bagerfahrer; 11-25-2012 at 05:30 PM. |

Regarding bookmarks you must go to bookmarks editor. If you already have a bookmark in menu section, just drag it to toolbar section. Or create new bookmark in toolbar section. |
