WD adds e-ink screens to external HDDs

Innovative new use for e-ink

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/10...ybook_screens/

The more uses for e-ink screens the cheaper they should become.

This isn't the first time eInk has been added to an external drive; My Lexar Mercury flash drive has a strip of eInk that gives a rough percentage of how much space is occupied/remaining. Though compared to that this seems a lot more practical.

This is the first I'd heard of this, I guess portable storage is advancing as quickly as everything else, so those 1TB and 2TB devices will eventually ship with screens so you can flick through the contents of the drive without a computer?
