"Karma" ist eine Möglichkeit sich bei jemandem zu bedanken. Zum Beispiel weil er Dir bei einer Frage weitergeholfen hat, ein Buch upgeloaded hat, das Dir gefällt, eine Neuigkeit postet, die Dich interessiert. Manchmal einfach auch nur, weil er Dich zum Lachen gebracht hat.

Dein Karma liegt im Moment bei 50, wenn Du Deinen UCP (User Control Panel, oben links) anklickst, kannst Du sehen, wer Dir Karma gegeben hat.

Wenn Du selber jemandem Karma geben willst, dann einfach den Karma-Button klicken.

Dass es eine Art Bewertungssystem ist, hatte ich mitbekommen (ich habe ja inzwischen auch schon Karma verteilt), aber im verlinkten Thread steht es ja ganz ausführlich drin, besten Dank für die Info.

Hat jemand hier einen besseren Übersetzungsvorschlag für das englische "Recipe", das ich als Rezept übersetzt habe?

Mich schüttelt es jedes Mal, wenn ich in calibre über diese Übersetzung stolpere...

Kovid nennt es "set of instructions"

Mir fehlt ein geeignetes deutsches Wort.

"Voreinstellung" trifft es ganz gut, finde ich.

Dat is nicht so einfach. Es gibt über 30 Stellen, bei denen Recipe auftaucht. In diversen Sätzen steht es alleine, dann wieder als "recipe to download news" oder auch "fetching recipe"...

Mal sehen...

passende Übersetzung "recipe"
Da es keine vernünftige Übersetzung für "Download" gibt, würde ich das in diesem Fall nicht so eng sehen, außerdem steht das Wort mittlerweile sogar im Duden.

Daher lautet mein Vorschlag

Da ich seit heute nun meinen eigenen Reader habe, konnte ich etwas mit Calibre 0.5 rumprobieren. Dieses PDF erst in HTML 4.01 und dann in epup sieht gar nicht gut aus. Das PDF direkt umwandeln schon besser, aber nicht optimal.

Warum sehen "Deine" Bücher so viel besser aus? Die meisten Quellen, die ich umwandeln möchte, sind halt PDF.

Ich bin mal so frech und greife der Antwort zumindest teilweise vor:
Seine Bücher sehen besser aus, weil da ne ganz schön große Menge Handarbeit drinsteckt (und PDF vermieden wird wo es geht).

Ich kann nicht ganz genau sagen wie er vorgeht, aber zumindest auf irgendeinem Weg PDF->HTML (Calibres pdf2html oder Mobipocket Creator oder Acrobat oder ...), dann HTML händisch (evtl. über BookDesigner) nachbearbeiten, dann in LRF, PRC (,IMP) und ePub umwandeln.

Wenn wir die Bücher einfach so automatisch in guter Qualität konvertieren könnten, hätten wir wahrscheinlich bereits alle deutschen, gemeinfreien Werke hier verfügbar...

AHA, also auf den "Knopf drücken und fertig" gibt es dann doch nicht!
Das Umwandeln von PDF nach HTML ist mit Acrobat Prof. ja kein Problem. Bearbeiten von HTML sollte mit Dreamweaver funktionieren oder ist BookDesigner (gibt es das auch für den Mac) da hilfreicher?
