Anyone tried to configure wifi adapter as AP?

using a kindle you already have is always going to be cheaper than buying a cable or a wifi adapter.

O.P. wants a WiFi link: Cell Phone <-> Kindle and USBnet: Kindle <-> Rpi
With the Kindle as the access point. It would probably be easier to configure/build the Rpi to run as an access point than the Kindle. Plus, there is a bit of confusion about "Free Wifi" networks.
