I think so, but I'm not sure what is the lowest firmware the kobo aura supports. I currently run firmware 2.8.1 (9a63806202, 7/15/13) on my kobo Glo. Since I read kobo had taken the stats for sideloaded kepubs, I didn't upgrade the firmware further.

Kobo's handling of them is broken. It's not just this plugin either, it's also broken for Kobo KePubs.

I haven't implemented it. It's not hard, but it isn't trivial and since the generation was in such flux I never wanted to implement a reverse converter cause it would be a lot of code to maintain and update when I always said to keep a non-KePub copy of all your books. With that said, I believe some people are working on this to include in the utility bundle from our good friend Alf.

I downgrade to 2.8.1 on my Aura HD and I get the stats. That's cool !

I have another problem: I send a book to my aura hd and start reading it but when I take a look at the table of contents it's stucked on the 1st chapter.
I can read normally and I have the number of pages in each chapter but without the name of the chapter. For it I'm always on chapter 1.
I don't know what's the problem because it's working fine on some book and it's not for others.
Maybe it's the original epub which is corrupted ?

Yes. The problem is the name of the internal files. The ereader doesn't handle them well.

The only solution I know is to edit the book in calibre with the editor and rename all the files with the command available for it (it's quite easy).

Hello all --

Upgraded Calibre today to 2.8.0, and now can no longer send books to the device. (Aura HD)

I understand that this plugin is no longer being developed, but must I uninstall it in order to be able to send books to my device? In fact, I'm getting all sorts of "broken pipe" error messages, regardless of what I try to do. Any thoughts?

The error says the book is not a valid epub. Are you getting the same error for all books? Or just some? And what are "broken pipe" errors? Do you have an example of those?

As to the status of the plugin, consider it as not under ACTIVE development. If there is a bug, someone will fix it. But, no-one is actively looking at adding function.

Validate that EPUB with W3C to eliminate - identify n (user) fix any structural errors .

You might uninstall Calibre, and install from a fresh download. Thing do go 'bump' on occasion.

I was getting them for every book, yes.

As for the 'broken pipe' errors, these occurred when I connected the device, and Calibre attempted to download the reading positions from the device.

Desperate to get books on my device, I first downgraded to Calibre 2.7.0, but that didn't change anything. I then checked the 'Attempt to Support Newer Firmware' option in the KoboTouchExtended plugin. After rebooting my Aura HD, it once again worked.

@Filmbrain: I think you are saying everything is working after a restart of the device. If so good, but it might be a good idea to run a check on the database.

Well, not exactly. Doing a restart on its own did nothing. It was only after the combination of rolling back a version and ticking the option in the plugin to attempt to support newer firmware.

When I have the time, I'll go back to 2.8.0 and uncheck the option in the plugin and report back. I shall also, as you suggest, run a check on the database.
