Boomerang nookboard Book Club selection

I am really excited to announce that Boomerang has been chosen as the first book to be read and discussed at the new nookboards.com forum.

The club starts it's four weekly gatherings in January, and participation isn't limited to those reading Boomerang on a nook.

I'll be fielding questions, posting a few of my own and hoping to just have a generally good time. Would love to have you join the group.

NookBoards Book Club

Of course, if book clubs are not your thing but you've read or are planning on reading Boomerang and have a question or want to pass on an observation, criticism, or an extravagant serving of praise (a fellow can dream!), please drop me a note here at mobileread!

All the best,
Alan

Thank you, Nomesque!

I have no "device" (gee, that doesn't sound good, does it?), but I will be downloading Dead(ish) tomorrow* to my laptop. Sex. Murder. Vengence and Mystery all sound good. But throw in Hilarity and I'm there!

Best,
Alan

*have to wait for when my son can help!

Hey, I wandered over there also. Saw your posts nomesque

That should be an fun book club with the author (you, Alan) participating and supplying questions to give participants something to comment on. I'm not good at just saying what I think about a book (other than I liked it or not), so having some questions to think about and comment on might make it easier.

I think we will have some fun with it.

Anyone seeking deep meaning, allegory or Profound Truths will be escorted from the building.

Boy, did I! It's done wonders for DEAD(ish)'s sales rank on B&N... although I don't think it's properly listed on the site yet - like, it's available, but doesn't show up in searches for free ebooks or for publisher name. Same seems to be the case with Boomerang?

Well, I finally got my son's assistance with a download that is readable on my computer (no snickering, you tech savvy folks!) and I have to say, you've got one funny, profane, fast paced read in Dead(ish).

The search issue seems to be pretty common for those of us who joined the B&N family through our association with Smashwords. I'll bet it takes a while for them to incorporate all the info from all those new books.

And there is a coupon, you know!

We'll be starting up the book club on January 4 over at nookboards.com. It would be great to see folks from mobileread over there, flinging questions and comments my way!

Here's the code to get a free copy at Smashwords.

Coupon Code: GK59K (new code, good through Dec. 31, 2009)

Best,
Alan
