Good stores (internet or otherwise) to buy PRS-700?
What are some recommended stores (internet or otherwise) to buy the PRS-700 in the US?

You can also check the unit out in Borders in person, but some people have complained that if there's a problem they don't have as good of a return policy. I bought mine there though. If you have a Rewards card every $150 you spend you get a $5 gift certificate (and the program is free).

Thanks. I've been looking around for discounts, and even on eBay but no good deals so far.

Physical stores try Sony, Borders or Target. Probably won't find many deals at the brick & mortar places.
Internet try B&H Photo and Video. You can also look at Pricegrabber.com and they will give you a list of all online vendors and their shipping/tax policy. Similiar to what Lilac mentioned, you can sign up for a sony rewards card and get a $100 credit after your first purchase of $299 or more. I believe you sign up for the card then buy your merchandise from Sony and a $100 credit will show up on your statement. Read the fine print to make sure the offer will work for you. |

My husband had a bunch of rewards points on his credit card and he got Amazon gift certicates in exchange for them. I used the Amazon gift certicates to buy my Sony PRS-700 from J&R.com through Amazon. I don't think I got a better price, but the rewards certificates made a huge difference and shipping was free.

Thanks for the tips. The only Amazon gift certificate I have is $25 which doesn't make a large dent :-(

If you're in an area that has a Fry's Electronics store, you could check them out. They have a good return policy.

Crutchfield has some in the scratch and dent section. You can get one for about 330, no shipping, no taxes. Scratch and dent is ambiguous though so you can't be sure exactly what it means.
