The Connie Willis is excellent and could almost qualify as a Victorian comedy of manners.

300 Deals!

SF Signal has an article called "300 Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Kindle eBook Deals $3.99 or Less."

There are some big authors and very famous works in that list. I guess I should start following SF Signal more often.

BTW their article does use affiliate links, so if you like the site and want to support SF Signal, use their links. If you're not into affiliate links, just type in the titles yourself on Amazon.

Thanks for this. Great collection of links. I am interested in a bunch of stuff there.

I recommend Elizabeth Moon's Oath of Fealty(but read the Deed of Paksenarion first) and Jim Butcher's Storm Front. Any other recommendations?

I'm interested in:

Panglor
Lost Things
House of Blades
The Palace Job
We

Can anyone vouch for these?

Wow the post links at the bottom are amazing. This is a great resource.

The Resurrectionist: The Lost Work of Dr. Spencer Black
by E. B. Hudspeth

is today's Nook Daily Find. It can be downloaded for $2.99.

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-...9781594746246#

Below is the blurb:
Philadelphia, the late 1870s. A city of gas lamps, cobblestone streets, and horse-drawn carriages—and home to the controversial surgeon Dr. Spencer Black. The son of a grave robber, young Dr. Black studies at Philadelphia’s esteemed Academy of Medicine, where he develops an unconventional hypothesis: What if the world’s most celebrated mythological beasts—mermaids, minotaurs, and satyrs—were in fact the evolutionary ancestors of humankind?

The Resurrectionist offers two extraordinary books in one. The first is a fictional biography of Dr. Spencer Black, from a childhood spent exhuming corpses through his medical training, his travels with carnivals, and the mysterious disappearance at the end of his life. The second book is Black’s magnum opus: The Codex Extinct Animalia, a Gray’s Anatomy for mythological beasts—dragons, centaurs, Pegasus, Cerberus—all rendered in meticulously detailed anatomical illustrations. You need only look at these images to realize they are the work of a madman. The Resurrectionist tells his story.

Since I haven't seen those posted here: Tor offers free ebook editions of their two Nebula Award finalist novellas:

Walkulla Spring by Ellen Klages and Andy Duncan
Burning Girls by Veronica Schanoes

Links to the US ebook stores are included in this announcement, the books are free worldwide, though. I was able to get them at Amazon.de.

All Tor books are DRM free.

I should point out that both of these are in the Some of the Best from Tor.com, 2013 Edition and Five Years of Stories (which includes the contents of all of the Some of the Best volumes and much more) collections. The latter has been free to Tor.com members, and the former is still free everywhere.

EDIT: My mistake; these are not in Five Years of Stories, which was released before those stories were written and before Best of 2013 was compiled.

Actually, neither of them is in Five Years of Stories, which doesn't contain all of the 2013 Some of the Best, because the former was released halfway through the year and its cutoff point is two weeks before "Burning Girls" and four months before "Wakulla Springs." But yes, anyone who has the most recent Some of the Best has both these stories.

Huh. My mistake; apologies all around. Somehow I just got used to thinking of the Some of the Best collections as proper subsets of Five Years.
