Confused bookmarks

I'm having a problem with my bookmarks. I have four books that I've bookmarked, but now the reader is showing 18 bookmarks. It seems to apply the same bookmark to each of the other books.

I can delete them, but everytime I re-synch the reader they return.

I've hard reset the reader twice, reformatted the reader once and de-installed and re-installed the library program once and nothing works.

Sony tech support says to send it in for a replacement, which seems a bit drastic to me. Has anybody else had this problem?

Havent had this problem but similar in that the unit reverts to old bookmarks after a shutdown and wont remember new ones (except on a 'hibernate').

I'm guessing a hard reset is the only answer :- shut down, start up and while starting up is showing hold down both the back key (to the left of the turn back one page key) and the volume + key for a fair while until screen shows delete all data yes/no. You will also have to re DRM it.

Could be caused by a corrupt filesystem. Do a "chkdsk".

After a number of soft and hard resets I found and cleared the cache which fixed the problem. I found the fix by searching this forum. I wish that Sony customer service did too.
