How to turn off History to avoid memory failure

I just noticed that on my PRS-505, the database/cache/media.xml file seems to contain lots of history associated with different books.

I'm concerned that this repeated writing to the internal memory (for no apparent gain) will cause premature wear and an eventual failure. This doesn't happen on my PRS-300.

Is there a way of turning off History in either PRS+, PRSCustomizer, or another hack so as to keep media.xml relatively unchanged? Thanks in advance!

Are you saying your 505 doesn't support bookmarks?

Both bookmarks and history (last 100 pages) works on my 505.

You're correct - I do have history! I've been working on a script to add collections to media.xml, which also deletes my history, which is why it didn't show up.

Unfortunately, my original question still stands. Unless I'm missing something, I find history totally useless, and want to disable memory writes to media.xml every time I flip a page.

I've gotten no responses so far, so I am going to dig around myself and post my results if and when I find something.

PS. I've corrected my original post.

The mentioned file is not saved on every page turn. It is saved when rebooting/connecting to USB and on some other events that don't happen that often.
