Mnfg restrictions on online sales?

I was checking Adorama's page on the 505 reader (http://www.adorama.com/SORDBBL.html) and find they replaced the previously displayed price of $279.99 with a "Click here" button. That emails you a price quote of $279.99, the same as before, but with the odd added message that "Due to Manufacturers restrictions, we are unable to sell this item on-line. " Any idea why? No one else seems to be have that restriction that I can tell

Dunno, may be just them (maybe they ticked off Sony somehow), or do other places have similar notes?

the retail price is $299.99 retails are sometimes ask stores not to "advertise" prices below a set point (this is true for brick and motor stores also). They can sell below the suggested retail price but they aren't allowed to place ads in the paper etc...

Since web sites are similar to ads for a product, they replace the price with a "TOO LOW TO SHOW" tag.

hope that helps.
