Free Book (Sony & Kindle) - Who Is Mark Twain?

Who Is Mark Twain? ($9.99 Kindle), by Mark Twain, is free in the Sony store. No doubt the individual stories are in the public domain, but this collection from Harper-Collins should be well done.

Book Description
Who Is Mark Twain? is a collection of twenty six wickedly funny, thought-provoking essays by Samuel Langhorne Clemens—aka Mark Twain—none of which have ever been published before, and all of which are completely contemporary, amazingly relevant, and gut-bustingly hilarious.

Click HERE for the free book (most likely US only).

Just wondering why the agency model allows one retailer to set a price of $0 but not all

Wow, I got the book, but what a frustrating experience! The Sony software was a long download on dial-up. And then, while I was able to access the store and download the book, it took some time. I never could get my nook to authorize with this software.

Fortunately, after searching my hard drive and finding the file location, I was able to add it to ADE and then transfer to my nook. It opened OK.

What is with Sony? It really shouldn't be this hard! At least I'll know what to do in the future.

Anyway, thanks for posting, as I'm definitely looking forward to this read!

As far as I can tell, the software is working on Windows 7 64-bit... but it simply does not recognize my nook. Your device is a Sony, maybe that's the difference? However, the instructions don't specify that it has to be a Sony device to be recognized.

At any rate, purchasing the book went well enough, but it's annoying to have to open a different software to transfer it to my reader when it appears that the Sony software should be able to do this.

They'd make life much easier if you could just sign into the store via the web and download via Adobe Digital Editions like other places do as opposed to making someone install extra software just to access their particular store. That's just not consumer friendly in my book and I bet it turns a lot of people off who then go buy elsewhere.

However, I'll still use the software to get the occasional free book, so I suppose I'm not that sorry I downloaded and installed it. And transferring via ADE works just fine.

Now free in the Kindle store for Canadians and presumably US. Still free at Sony, too, but US-only.

I thought this sounded familiar. I just checked my iTunes library, and I see that I downloaded an audio version of this book for free last year. I just read the chapter "Whenever I Am About to Publish a Book." I love his focus group. The most important member: the man who always falls asleep.
