.mobi compression?
Hi! Can someone please enlighten me to what happened to my converted mobi file in this process?
I have a 20mb epub that I've convrted to mobi. The file size remained the same. But when I re-converted the mobi , the file size went down to 7mb. I've tried to reconvert some of the .mobi files I have in my database, and their file sizes also shrunk. What exactly happened during this conversion? Any data lost during conversion? |

Well, for one thing, the images probably got recompressed. Eventually you'll see compression artifacts.

That will most likely be due to resizing of images.calibre resizes images based on whatever output profile you have selected.
