A cheap e-reader seems to be one of my many weaknesses.
I use my PRS-600 for reading the news feeds I download with Calibre. The touch screen and the stylus make moving around to the different articles very easy. My Story HD is my everyday reader. I use my Nook Color for magazines because of the nice color screen. I also use it to read in bed at night. Reversing the text makes the screen nice and dim without losing readability- a real marriage saver! The Kobo Mini fits nice in my lunch bag, so I take it to work. The load the Slick e-reader with kids books for my son to read. I'm sure if I had more e-readers, I'd find a use for them. An adage I keep seeing on a road cycling forum I mostly lurk on seems to apply here also: number e-readers owned= n+1. |

I do most of my reading on an regular iPad. I use an iPad mini when I'm reading at lunch, or any such situation (the mini is smaller and will fit in the pocket of my vest. I use a Sony when I backpack because the charge last about two weeks and it's very light and rugged.

I bought a Sony for me and one for my wife. Marital harmony assured.
I won a Kobo here in MR during the Christmas Mystery Challenge that goes with me 98% of the times I leave the house. I have an iPhone with a few books on it for those other 2% of the time. And thanks to Harry, I've just realized the justification for an iPad or other tablet: PDFs! I'm off to the store! Stitchawl |

I've been using a tablet to read PDF's, and a Kindle Paperwhite to read books.
So technically, I own two reading devices, but only one ereader. Maybe I'll one day get a newer ereader (8 inch Paperwhite?) for use at home, and the 6 inch Paperwhite would then be used in public transport. |

I don't really see the point of having more than one myself yet I have been reading mostly on my Nexus 7 lately just because of convenience and cloud syncing with my phone, that said if I was to go camping or a long trip no doubt my T1 would be the far better choice on account of battery life and the sheer number of books I have loaded on it.
If I bought a new e ink device I think I'd immediately give my T1 to a family member I did the same thing just yesterday with a bluetooth speaker when I bought myself a much higher end one. |

This seems to be the same as asking people why they have more than one child. Accidents happen

I actually had a nightmare last night that I went on a trip and forgot to bring my second back-up ebook reader with me...
