Another hot day today, 29C. However, it did cool down during the night so I was able to sleep reasonably well. For tonight rain, thunder and hail is predicted. Tomorrow is much of the same.
Next week another warm couple of days are predicted, however this time with cooler nights. So hopefully it won't be as bad as the last couple of days. |

Now what is unique is you are calling 84F hot while I consider 91F warm. Our normal temps this time of year are 35C or 95F if not warmer. |

Yes, that is a big difference.
Your normal high is a little cooler than our normal lows this time of year. Last month our highs stayed at 38C+ for 3 straight weeks. Our lows were about 32C. One week was around 42C. Oh and that looks a lot better in C than F. F ranged from 100 to 110. So I do completely understand. I think July was roast everyone month. |

We're about to get another rain shower, and it has started rumbling again. They are now saying it'll be 25C today, which is a lot better than predicted. However, with the predicted rain it'll be muggy.

It's coolish and overcast, but moreover, the first fog I've seen in ages!! I've always loved the mysteriousness of fog. We so rarely have it nowadays. Yes, I know, more car accidents and other stuff, but that's because people are stupid and simply will NOT SLOW DOWN.

Hurricane/Tropical storm Hermine skirted past us a little further east over the Atlantic than predicted. It still poses coastal flooding threats but we were scheduled for strong winds and heavy rain -- instead, we got beautiful breezes, clear skies, bright sun, temperatures that topped out at 80° F, and very comfortable humidity levels.
Of course, it's still out there, temporarily stalled by some weather fronts, but unless we get some really drastic changes, we should be good for tomorrow as well. After that it's supposed to get hot again. |

Hermine largely missed us -- had some squall bands on Friday ...
hot today (90 F) but less humid ... a breeze sprang up so I sprang up too and mowed the lawn ... |

The nearby weather station recorded a high temperature of 102º (F) this afternoon. Most of the time it was "just" in the mid-90s. It was mostly cloudy, but bright, and breezy.
On the other hand, one of the dogwood trees has some leaves that are already yellow and orange, and there was a shower of ash leaves from a tree in the backyard during one of the stronger breezes. It's just a matter of time. |

After weeks of scorching drought, the monsoon rains (aka TS Julia) have returned ... but not to worry ... temps to get back into the 90's F on Saturday

Watching Matthew's alleged track ... the Euro models are reassuring ... but what if Matthew bounces east and merges with TS Nicole?
