I have not read Shiver by Karen Robards but the one book I read by her (The Last Victim) was more paranormal with a touch of romance thrown in.

Shiver and Sleepwalker is not paranormal but they are romantic suspense thrillers. Robards got her start as one of the best Romance writers. I haven't read a Robards book I didn't like.

Have you looked into Elizabeth Lowell? I'm not a pure romance reader, but I actually like her romantic suspense books. The St. Kilda series is pretty good. Mom says that The Diamond Tiger was good too, as well as her Donovans' series.

I would suggest Karen Rose for suspense. Pamela Clare's I-Team series also.
