My current one (650) is less than a year old. I also still have my 505, which is now3 years old maybe? (I have to see when I joined this site... I got it a few months before) It had a little accident (I'm still not sure how it happened) and the screen becomes less readable as the days go on. I haven't used it in months

Surely the battery life is significantly less than it was when it was new? A four-year-old Lithium battery probably has half, if not less, the capacity that it did when it was new.

My PRS-650 is now 6 months old, not an issue
PRS-T1 just arrived at home so it is the baby of the ereader family in our house. PRS-300 is 18 months old and a good as it was the day I got it. Being my first ereader, it has much sentimental value. Kobo is over twelve months old and has never, ever caused me any issues My bride's JBL's are a year old now and working as advertised but at the moment she is thoroughly enjoying her brand new Kindle 3. I would love to buy a new kindle. Mine is almost 3 years old, I think, but there is nothing wrong with it at all so I cannot in any way justify it.

My main eBook reader (Kindle Dxg) is just one year old, but the other two (who get to be used quite a bit too) are respectively 3 years and 8 months old (Cybook Gen3) and 2 years and 10 months old (Sony 505).

My Gen 3, used daily, is 3.5 years old - and I shudder when I consider how much I paid for it and what I could get today for the equivalent price .... especially when I'm less eager to pay the same ....!

Amazing how prices have dropped. I don't have a smartphone, so the money I save from not having it and a forced data plan allows me to upgrade all of my mobile tech gadgets (Android tablet, media player, MP3 player) every 2 years with $300+ left over. I didn't include my ereaders x2, because Amazon gives them to me for free via the Special Offers models.

My Nook Classic is right at 3 years old. I passed it off to my Lady (who rarely uses it) as a good excuse to get a Nook STR. I had one of the infamous cracked beazels on the NC, but got it replaced with no problems. As such, the STR was a vanity purchase for me. I got the STR on release day and use it 2-4 hours daily.

I suspect you are right that the battery isn't at the peak it was when I first got the 505, but then I haven't had to replace the battery, it still holds a charge, and I'm recharging it on the same schedule as before. |

I started using my PRS-505 right around the time I signed up here -- I don't know what that is off-hand but it will show up when I post.
It still works perfectly, although the battery doesn't last as long as it used to -- I'm charging it about once every two weeks or so and I don't use it as much as I did when it was my only reader. |

I got my K3 last December, so just under a year old. No noticeable decrease in battery life as of yet, still works like new and looks brand new.
