"RightBrane.com re-releases Chasing the Light"

(Old News)
Yes, despite computer swaps, software reloads, upgrades, replacements, and every other thing that can go wrong when replacing a computer... I have kept my promise and finally prevailed, finished, and uploaded my newest novel, Chasing the Light!

I am proud of this book for two reasons: One, it hits on a major issue today, the national oil crisis and impending energy crunch, and what it will mean to everyone in America inside of the next decade; and Two, this book is being offered in the new ePub format developed by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF.org), and already being endorsed and used by Adobe's Digital Editions and InDesign software, and by other companies. ePub could turn out to be the e-book format of the future, and I am glad to be able to offer it to my customers.

So, please go find out more on Chasing the Light, and see if you want to add it to your digital collection. I'm going to just sit over here and take a rest...

(New News)
Fortunately, preparing this book for its re-release on RightBrane.com was a lot easier! Scroll down to post #8 for details!

Cool. Is it DRM free on the Kindle store? Are all your books on the Kindle store?

BOb

EDIT: I answered my own question, by searching the kindle store. Funny Chasing the Light didn't show up.

Yup, I meant 72 hours. (It was a long day!)

As far as DRM, my understanding is that every book sold through the Kindle store has the same Kindle DRM system, no more or less. So, if you want a truly DRM-free book, buy a Mobi version from my site, and upload it into your Kindle (or anything else you have that runs Mobi).

The Kindle edition is available at Amazon -- and I found most of your other books there as well.

My motto is "Shop at Amazon for convenience". And shop elsewhere for your DRM-free books.

I thought people had mentioned that some books at Amazon are free of DRM. They are the books without samples.

I will certainly buy from your site. I assume you get more cash that way... and I can also get the LRF for my Sony. I assume I don't need to buy two copies if my son will also read the books?

Chasing the Light - now available at RightBrane.com

Chasing the Light, the newest re-release by Steven Lyle Jordan, is now available at RightBrane.com, and soon to be available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other booksellers. It's $2.99, available in multiple formats, and as always, No DRM.

Quote:
Tom Everson, forced to flee his home during the 2015 oil riots, returns eight years later to find the girl he had to leave behind, start a business and make a life for them both. But he had to sneak into the country illegally, the energy situation has only gotten worse, and the country may break out in renewed riots at any time! Did Tom arrive at exactly the wrong moment?
This is a romantic adventure, set in the energy turmoil of a future America right around the corner, and more realistic than we'd like. The story has been edited, re-proofed and slightly revised since its original 2008 release, fleshing out a few scenes and clarifying a few plot points.

If you've already enjoyed this story, please pass the word to any of your friends that like a good romantic adventure with a futuristic but recognizable setting. If you haven't read this, be prepared for a story that might be too close to our future for comfort!

Cool... been a while since I've read a SLJ book. What's up with the Kestral Voyages.... any new ones coming out? Was _Berserker_ renamed _The Kestral Voyages_ or is that a new book?

Are we able to d/l updated versions if we already bought the book... or do we need to re-up?

The original "Berserker" was renamed "The Kestral Voyages: My Life, After Berserker." Same story, with just minor embellishments and reproofing, so don't feel the need to buy it just for that (although you might enjoy the extended sex scenes--yar!).

(Seriously: Yes, some of the old sex scenes were embellished beyond their original "kiss-kiss, crashing waves, morning after" status, but not to the extent that they are porn. Consider it a jump from "PG" to "R" movie rating, to be more in line with modern novels.)

There will be further Kestral books, by popular demand! BUT... I plan to re-release all of my existing books before I write a new one, which is why I'm trying to get these books out as fast as I can, one every 2 weeks or so. I think I can maintain that pace, even through the holidays.

The next book to be released for the new site will be the third Kestral book, "The House of Jacquarelle", though I may change the title... it's such a mouthful.
