Yup, when I bought my Kobo Aura it wouldn't connect to my PC. I went back to the store and exchanged it for another and that one worked.

The problem with a poll like this is that people who have had a problem are much more likely to respond than those who haven't, so you'll get an exaggeration of the proportion of devices that have issues.
For example, I've had no problems, but I really can't be bothered to go to the poll and say so. |

Mostly dead
My first Astak Pocket Pro caused the USB port to error out (multiple systems). The second one was not much better. The work around was to instal a USB-1 port (The issue was marginally not playing nice with Intels enhanced USB2 driver, which all of my systems had ) The second (silent release) generation did not have this issue. Dead (mostly intermittent) HDTV (tuner) in a small one destined for the wifes Sewing Room Early HDTV converter (w/component out) box that would lockup (appear bricked) if channels flipped fast. Exchanged. The second one did similar until it would not recover (leaving unplugged for 2 DAYS cleared the lock. input/gate left Floating?) The days of 24+ hours of burn in are long gone for consumer Electronics. ( I tended more than 1 burn-in room in my career ) |

Your post says "computer product," the poll says "computer"? With me, it was a Microtek 3300 book scanner. I'm quite happy with it, now that I have one that works. (Amazon, in case of DOA, quickly sends you a new one before you return the original one, which is quite nice of them.)

Well, computer products tend to be devices that compute things (compute-r's), so in that sense the poll is worded sufficiently.

I've had one Mainboard DOA but I'm not sure that's the kind of computer component you really want to hear about in the poll.
My two e-readers (Sony PRS-T1 and Kobo Aura HD) where fine. |

I got a new laptop for Christmas that wouldn't even start up. A couple of years ago my new Nexus7 started, but the update bricked it and they had to replace it.
