Convert rtf to lrf

Has anyone else had a problem getting the Euro symbol to display in an lrf?
I am using rtf and have tried quite a few combinations of embedded fonts and encoding values.

I started off using html, and it worked then, however I couldn't format it the way I wanted so I switched to rtf. This is the last problem, I have ... well except for the fact that I cannot format a table so that the columns line up.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

I have attached a short segment from the original file. I hope this is OK.
Euro has a charcter code of 128 &080H however some chars above this work. I am at a loss.
