Yeah, and the sheep would feed the lawn.

Well, tonight I am sanding down the chalkboard and painting it allll over again. I found a primer that will make the entire chalkboard magnetic ... I think that will look better.

I just love doing projects I thought I just finished over again one day later.

Let me know how the magnetic primer works. I've been making marble magnets lately and am thinking about creating matching wooden boards for them.

Will do. I put the first coat on just a few minutes ago ... it takes three (thin) coats to work best.

Sometimes my life is just so slapstick. I thought I might take a can of the red paint and just touch up a few spots on the frame after I sanded the chalkboard part.

Walking across the kitchen with a closed can of paint, I trip over a cat (of course, there HAS to be a cat lying on the floor in the kitchen), the can of paint sails out of my hands, hits the floor, the top pops off of it, and the next thing you know there is a HUGE puddle of red paint on the kitchen floor.

I swear, the cats all lined up and laughed at me for a full minute.

Oh NO! That's awful! The cats shouldn't laugh at the person who feeds them. It's bad manners.

They're called marble magnets, but the "marble" isn't round. Here's an example. I'm making them mainly as decorative gifts but depending on how well they turn out, I might sell a few.

My cats never listen. It doesn't matter what I say or how I say it ... they just sit there and snigger at me.

Oh .... I like that idea. I bookmarked that site.

Well .... I think I've done about as much as I can possibly do today. I am going to bring some of the stuff in off of the driveway (where I've been spray painting).

I got a bunch of Sterelite boxes at Walmart that I am going to use to organize things that I want to leave on the kitchen counters. (Things like my cooking utensils and measuring spoons and cups.) The boxes are blue and gray ... which I do not like ... so I am painting them black and cream to fit in with the kitchen colors. I might have done red, but I could not find a red in Krylon that I really liked. So ... black and cream.

I got two coats of the magnetic paint on the door. It appears to be a zillion small magnetic iron filings suspended in an otherwise clear solution. You can tell when you go to clean out the brushes ... they all sort of line up together. I think that's probably why they suggest that you put it on in thin coats .... so the filings can line up while they are going on ... if the poles are not well oriented, then you will not have as strong a magnet.

Really sleepy. Good night all. I may (or may not) get in here tomorrow. It all depends on how many breaks I need from the heat ... and how much I absolutely have to do outside. They are predicting 107 degrees by Tuesday ... that's about 42 degrees for you folks on the Celsius scale.

You just know it when you hear it. Of course, if you look at them to see who is going it, they act all nonchalant and innocent.

ah - I'll look out for that...
most of the time we spend keeping 3 of them at 'bay'
'cause the boys will insist on being territorial...

And, that's why I find myself repainting everything with seriously waterproof paint (or should I say cat-pee proof). It's the ancient problem of the territorial boys.
