Content Server Log question
I have my Content Server up and running just fine so that my sister can "shop" in my Calibre library. But..... I'm seeing log entries that I am concerned about... Should I be??? If so, how can I protect myself from these unwanted probes?
These are the entries I am seeing. 79.148.130.254 - - [19/Jan/2012:05:35:00] "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" 200 6234 "" "" 79.148.130.254 - - [19/Jan/2012:05:35:00] "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" 200 6234 "" "" 79.148.130.254 - - [19/Jan/2012:05:35:00] "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" 200 6234 "" "" 97.76.252.172 - - [20/Jan/2012:10:29:27] "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" 200 6234 "" "" 219.143.8.145 - - [22/Jan/2012:20:47:49] "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" 200 6234 "" "" 115.168.33.141 - - [25/Jan/2012:20:53:04] "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" 200 6234 "" "" 186.3.150.104 - - [25/Jan/2012:21:23:19] "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" 200 6234 "" "" Thanks, Ginny |

Try changing the default port to something else, put something like 8576 or 4512 or anything else. That would help a bit with people scanning the standard ports like 80 or 8080

Thanks for your response.
In my attachments, do you know that the "... 200 6234" means? Is this a cause for concern? |

200 is the HTTP status code 6234 is likely the port on the remote machine. You dont have to worry about either.

An HTTP status code of 200 is a success code - a request has been successfully completed. This does not indicate a problem.
