Ich versuche, mein fictionwise-Guthaben aufzubrauchen mit Büchern, die keiner regionalen Beschränkung unterliegen. Was gar nicht einfach ist. Bei meiner schon fast verzweifelten Suche bin ich jetzt bei Fritz Leiber hängengeblieben und versuche mal mein Glück mit Band 1 von Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser.

Danke für den Tipp. Ich hab noch nicht gekauft, könnte also zurückrudern. Ist aber a) die Frage, ob ich wirklich alle lesen will oder nicht zuerst mal eines versuche und sehe, wie es mir so gefällt. Und b) wüsste ich gerade gar nicht, wie ich mein dortiges Guthaben sonst loswürde, da alle anderen Bücher, die mich interessieren, regionalen Beschränkungen unterliegen.

Übrigens kannst Du die Bücher auch einzeln kaufen - Swords und Deviltry 1 zum Beispiel kostet einzeln 6 USD

Nee, das hast Du falsch verstanden, Eagleeye! Ravenne hat noch jede Menge Kredit bei Fictionwise und wollte DORT das Gray Mouser-Buch kaufen, worauf ich ihr von dem Baen-Angebot erzählt habe! Bei Fictionwise gibt es halt nicht viele Books ohne regionale Beschränkungen!

Ich hab grade in meinem Cart bei fictionwise: Tongues of the Moon von Farmer, Thunder in Space and Other Stories und Police Your Planet von Lester Del Rey, alle ohne regionale Beschränkungen!

Hab die Arena von Stephen King durch, 1278 Seiten Spannung nur zu Empfehlen und lese jetzt "Ein König für Deutschland" von Andreas Eschenbach, in dem es um ein Vater-Sohn Gespann geht, dass per Wahlcomputermanipulation einer monarch. Partei die Mehrheit sichert um auf die Risiken dieser Geräte hinzuweisen.

Ja, die Multiformat-ebooks scheinen weitgehend ohne regionale Beschränkung zu sein. Danke für die Links, die schau ich mir gleich mal an. Wäre schade, das Geld verfallen zu lassen. Vor einem Jahr, als ich das Micropay-Konto angelegt und darauf eingezahlt habe, waren nur ganz wenige Bücher beschränkt.

Bin gerade mit "The Stand" von Stephen King halb durch. Spannend wie von ihm gewohnt, und es passt thematisch gut zur (allerdings aktuell nicht mehr so dramatischen) Situation bezüglich Schweinegrippe. Gut, dass ich das (E-)Buch nicht schon letztes Jahr im Frühsommer in die Finger bekam

Das Buch ist mir schon im September aufgefallen, und ein gekauftes Buch zu konvertieren habe ich mich bisher nicht getraut.
Und der "Drache" war ein Dino-Baby aus Ice Age 3 - aber es wird bestimmt wieder einmal ein Drache, versprochen (Nicht nur deinetwegen)

Ah, ok jetzt hab auch ich es kapiert. Danke für die Erklärung. Vor dem Ice Age Baby hattest du aber ein ausgewachsenes Exemplar, wenn ich mich recht erinnere. Keine Sorge übrigens, ich gewöhne mich schnell an neue Avatars, auch wenn ich dich irgendwie im Hinterkopf als Drache abgespeichert habe.
