hi,
if i had the same version of android that is on the nook on a phone, what (if anything) would be missing? cut and paste? multi tasking (or a better way to move between apps)? |

The last means that some functions in a few apps don't work. The Nook app for android doesn't work, the Quickdesk app is another that fails, the shortcut picker for launchers doesn't work, some games have bad formating for the Nook screen, and as you noted, hold to cut/paste does not work. Most apps work fine. There are workarounds for some of these: Quote:

For putting shortcuts on launcher home screens you can use an app like Desktop Visualizer. |
