Techno addiction
Psychology Today has identified a new condition known as "Techno Addiction."

Hrmmmm... the article irritated me a little. It practically said, "we can get addicted to anything we enjoy, hence we can get addicted to various aspects of technology!" Ummm, yep, I guess
However, internet addictions and gaming addictions are quite real - it's just the way the article's written that set my teeth on edge! But then, maybe psychology's supposed to be about going round in circles and never really saying much... |

Hmmm, I thought psychology was all about figuring out why I do the things I do so I could stop doing the dumb things. If I read the article, will I figure out why I now have three e-readers, and how to stop getting more? Or maybe that's not one of the dumb things. Or is it?

Well, it depends. Have you ever noticed how some people decide as soon as they start to enjoy something that it's then time to stop doing it? Even if whatever it is is perfectly harmless? I never did figure that mindset out. Yeah, I enjoy technology. I like my gadgets, and I'd have more of them if I had more money. I guess the key to anything is moderation: I'm not going to sacrifice food to buy the latest tech gadget. Am I addicted? Probably. Do I care? Nope, not in the least.

Now that I'm working, it's easier to feed my tech addiction and myself which probably explains why I'm 50lbs overweight. Lol, seems like being a poor tech addict is good for the health. |

LOL!! I meant *all* food, I think. Yeah, I'll be skipping fast food lunches out if that Microsoft dual tablet ever comes to fruition, to save up for it. But eating ramen to afford it, probably not.

Look at me, your arms are feeling heavy, your eye lids droop, you're feeling tired, sooo tired, you're not a techno addict anymore, you can stop, log out and shut down your computer NOW. |

They should at least get their terms right. It is tech addiction. Techno addiction is an addiction to horrible club music.
