I don't say "manufactured in France" (even if the first Cybook was) But asking a chinese company to make with your design/schematic is not an OEM/ODM standard procedure.

This looks very interesting. I hope that someone brings one to the next Paris meet-up.

The form factor and specs are not quite right for Jinke though.
6' sipix capacitative touch screen, accelerometer, wi-fi, blue tooth, 2gb on board .. for under US$250. It could even be AUO themselves. ... the only other ereader I can think of with similar form and specs is the RCA Lexi. Last edited by Fahrenheit 451; 01-09-2010 at 03:41 PM. AUO is the manufacturer of Sipix screen (and a big Taiwanese company that make LCD panel)
but AUO is only a screen manufacturer. I doubt that they will make electronical card like the bookeen's device |

AUO (Acer Unipac Optronics) was the big Taiwanese dog whose bowl PVI pissed in when PVI bank-rolled E-Ink and made their LCDs obsolete for eReaders.
So AUO found their own epud start-up in Sipix (they own what?, 30% now of Sipix). Because AUO already has a massive screen manufacturing base in and long-standing ties with leading suppliers, they can undercut PVI's prices. |

The idea of fingerprints on my reading material gives me the creeps. Yuck! Worked on a touch screen computer for years and never liked trying to read through the fingerprints.

According to TeleRead it's going to come in multiple colors.

That's my major concern with touchscreen devices. I don't like fingerprints on my screens. Guess with a stylus it wouldn't be a problem, but with fingers... not a feature I actually desire.

For me, the most useful feature of a touchscreen is to click on a word and automatically open it in a dictionary, or an online service (e.g. Wikipedia or Google Dict). Do you think that this kind of feature will be available on the Orizon ?
If yes, then I think I want one |
