Overdrive Media Console

Anyone know how to use Overdrive's Media Console to borrow books? I am having a hard time learning to do that.

Go to your library's digital page. There's usually a Help/FAQ section with detailed directions. Also, download Adobe Digital Editions and authorize your computer with it.

eBooks will be sent to ADE and audiobooks will be sent to OverDrive.

A few questions:
  • will you be borrowing ebooks and audiobooks? or just one of the two?
  • what devices will you be using for your books?

Overdrive isn't exactly intuitive to get started, that's a fact. But once you get used to it it's not too bad. Are you using it on a smart phone or PC?

You need a good library that lends digital media and uses Overdrive system. Try here... you can get an "out of state" card by mail for a small fee.

http://libwww.freelibrary.org/register/getcard1.cfm
(see "Printable Registration Form")

Here is their Overdrive system: OVERDRIVE BOOKS

Try YouTube. Somewhere along the way I found a series of videos dealing with this.

A little challenging, but I got this working on a Blackberry Torch using the same login parameters as my standard Overdrive account with the Toronto Public Library.
