New essay on my blog excerpted from How do we know?
Watching the River Flow What is it to be conscious? As you read this are you aware that you are reading? Can you feel your toes? Are you aware of your heart beating, your breath? Do you notice these things singly, individually, sequentially or as part of a mosaic of awareness? Where do you think ‘you’ are? In your brain? In your chest? Or maybe just behind your eyes. Close them. Are you still there? Are you still in the same place or have ‘you’ shifted? When you touch something with your fingers, feel the texture where are ‘you?’ Is it ‘you’ feeling the texture or ‘you’ knowing that you are touching/feeling the texture under your fingers? Or is it both? Are you the water, the river or .... http://kennyachaffin.blogspot.com/20...iver-flow.html |

Sounds interesting, but I can't find anything about this at the link you posted. Nice photos there, though.

Pandemic, by Scott Sigler is the 3rd and final installment in his Infected Trilogy. Over 5 years have passed between, the 2nd and 3rd book, and it was well worth the wait!
Find out why this book is only the 2nd book to get the certified 5 Star Award from Top of the Heap Reviews! http://topoftheheapreviews.com/pande...-scott-sigler/ |

JC Hutchins began a new monthly serial that seems to be part A-Team, part X-Files, part Fringe....after the first one, I'm interested to see where it goes, but have some fears for it going forward:

StoryBundle is taking Horror submissions
Long time lurker, first time poster here.
My name is Martin Kee and I am curating a Horror Bundle through, released through StoryBundle sometime late spring/early summer 2014. We are still open for a few additions to the mix. If anyone knows/is a talented horror or dark fantasy author who might be interested, send them over to http://storybundle.com/author_faq And have them take a look. We'll consider both author-published and traditionally-published books and anthologies, so if you're an indie author, it's a great way to get your work seen. There's no hard deadline for this bundle, but we'd like to have everything locked in by March 31st. |
