Adding more DC metadata elements to ePubs
I want to add some more dc: metadata elements to epubs that do not appear to be available in the edit metadata dialogue, such as dc:subject and dc:contributor with various roles. I can use Tweak ePub to edit these directly into the opf file within the ePub, but should I also add them to the metadata.opf file which exists in the calibre library folder for the book?

dc:subject is already implemented as Tags (each comma separated value is a different subject).

Adding them to the opf is meaningless,as calibre will simply ignore them. You should create a custom column and add them there as well as to the epub's opf.
