Prospective Kindle owners: Watch out July 4th
Completely unsubstantiated, we know, but there is always the possibility that Amazon is going to discount the Kindle device during their annual 4th of July sales. No, we don't have any hard evidence and no industry insider tipped us; but it would make sense for Amazon, given how hard they're trying to push the Kindle. Wouldn't it?

IIRC, they'll do a price adjustment if you bought within 30 days of the sale, no? If so, I might get a little extra savings on the one I just bought for my husband.

I was able to get a new one off ebay for $300. They are currently $360 shipped on Amazon. I don't think they will lower the price but they may give credit for purchases on the site. Manybe an additional $20 for some ebooks.

Thanks! It's still worth it at full price. I think the clincher for my husband was the Amazon GC I got from Coinstar. I dumped our change jar the other day and that covered 1/2 the cost right there!
