Do they make returns hard on purpose

I decided to return the nook color and it-s been impossible to get thru on the phone and they don-t have an online option like Amazon where you just print a page and stick it on top of the box. Am I missing something?

The only way to do it online is if you bought it online. You have to call 1-800-The-Book to get a Return Authorization emailed to you to send it back if you bought it from Barnes and Noble. There may also be a restocking fee. I'm not 100% sure since I usually pass them on to a manager at the store and only handle exchanges.

I bought it online but I can't find the menu where to print out the form to stick on the box and send it back, at least that's how it's done on Amazon. I called that number and I was on hold for 40 minutes and gave up. I don't think there's a restocking fee or at least there shouldn't be.

I bought mine at best buy for this very reason (after reading advice on this forum). Best buy has the no hassle return policy if I decided I didn't like it. This is good advice for anyone thinking of buying a nook.

I think definetely this should be known that ordering from B&N online is the worst option when it comes to returns. If bought at a store you can take it back, same if it's bought at a Best Buy. If you buy online, per website instructions: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/help/h....asp?PID=37128
You have to call and wait on hold until they "approve" your return. Which has been super horrible because of the holiday season, at least they extended returns until Jan 31st I'll give them that.
